But the new political party insists the reality star is their member in good standing and will be a PR councillor in the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality on the KZN south coast.

Sne, who stars in her family’s popular reality shows Uthando Nes’thembu and Izingane Zes’thembu on Mzansi Magic, has been trending on social media since Monday, 7 September following the emergence of an Anosa campaign poster bearing her picture and name.

According to Anosa, the picture was provided by Sne herself.

Daily Sun contacted Sne to confirm the news, but she didn’t respond.

When Daily Sun reached out to Mzansi Magic publicist, Portia Hlongwane for comment, she said: “Thank you for reaching out. Sne is unable to comment on the questions below as she has no knowledge of the matter you are referring to. She has not stepped into politics nor is she a councillor candidate for Anosa or any other political party.

“It appears there may have been a misunderstanding or incorrect information provided to you.”

But Anosa secretary-general and founder, Siyabonga Thango told Daily Sun Sne is their member in good standing.

“When we established the political party, we notified Sne’s father, Musa Mseleku and asked him to give us one of his children to lead at Ray Nkonyeni and he recommended Sne.

“He gave us Sne’s contact number and we communicated with her. She agreed to join and shared her picture with us. We designed the poster and shared it in our groups.

“I’m surprised it’s trending now because this poster was released in July. Sne is our member in good standing. She participated in the party’s activities and was in the party’s WhatsApp groups. She will be a PR councillor under Ray Nkonyeni Municipality.”

Thango said their political party is new and only received its certificate from the IEC on 18 July.

They will contest four metros: City of Joburg, City of Ekurhuleni, eThekwini Municipality and City of Cape Town, as well as three local municipalities – Umzumbe, Ray Nkonyeni and Umdoni.

Meanwhile, Sne’s father Musa admitted that his daughter was approached by Anosa.

“She was approached, but she is not going to participate due to other engagements,” he said.
