AMAPIANO star DJ K Mat lives by the motto: embrace life without limits.
She inspires everyone around her to do the same.
The 26-year-old DJ, from Soshanguve, Tshwane, real name Koketso Mathabathe, gained international recognition for her hit track MKK.
Speaking to Daily Sun, she shared her views on freedom, identity, and living life to the fullest.
"I like to allow myself and anyone around me really to be as multi-dimensional as they need to be. Life should not have as many rules and confinements, and it does currently. Life is really meant to be lived," she said.
K Mat recently released a new single titled Piki Piki, featuring Moonchild Sanelly, ShaunMusiq, and Khalil Harrison.
She explained how the energetic collaboration came together.
"We were chilling in the studio and heard this amazing beat from the musical genius, ShaunMusiq and knew the song had to sound like a party, and who better to give a party other than Khalil and Moonchild Sanelly."

Working with Moonchild was a standout moment for her.
"She is honestly such a darling! She is currently on tour but has gone out of her way, alongside her team, to ensure they are able to participate in the roll-out."
Describing Piki Piki, K Mat said the song captures the spirit of celebration and joy.
"iEvent colour parti! Life isn't that serious, let's just groove. The beat of the song is undeniable! You will find yourself, at some point in the song, jamming and having a good time. It's also thrilling and dimensional, same with MKK and Jobe.
"It feels like a coming to self, reclaiming a part of me that I took for granted. I am a party girl and that's okay," she said.
K Mat also reflected on her recent experience performing on the Piano Stage at Portugal's international Afronation Festival.
"I had so much fun, really blown away by the feedback I received as well. I feel really blessed to be given this gift and the platform to showcase it."
