GAGASI FM presenter Felix Hlophe has broken his silence.

This follows allegations of abuse that circulated widely on social media.

Hlope insists that no physical violence took place and that the matter has been referred to his lawyers.

In a statement issued on Saturday, 27 December, Hlophe said the claims were made online by an associate of his wife and confirmed that he is seeking legal advice.

"This statement serves to formally acknowledge statements that have been made about me on social media by an associate of my wife. I am aware of these statements and have referred the matter to my legal representatives for advice," said Hlophe.

The allegations stem from an incident that occurred on 24 December 2025, following the public circulation of news relating to Hlophe's personal life.

According to Hlophe, his wife had temporarily left home with their children after accepting an invitation from a friend.

"Following the public circulation of news relating to my personal life, my wife accepted an invitation from a friend to take some time away with our children," he said.

Hlophe said he later went to fetch his wife and children, accompanied by his mother-in-law, but admitted that tensions flared during the encounter.

"During this interaction, emotions ran high on all sides, and an unfortunate confrontation took place, but there was no physical violence."

He also commented on the videos circulating online, stating that they do not provide a complete picture of what happened.

"The video clips currently circulating online do not reflect the full context of the situation and present only a partial version of events."

Hlophe confirmed that private security and the South African Police Service were called to the scene, but said no arrests were made.

"Security and the South African Police Service were called as a precaution… No arrests were made."

He added that officers at the scene raised concerns about insults allegedly directed at his mother-in-law.

"Both the private security personnel and SAPS officers present expressed concern about the nature of the insults directed at my mother-in-law during the exchange," said Hlophe.

Despite the distressing incident, Hlophe said his family reunited and spent Christmas together peacefully.

"Despite this distressing moment, my wife and children returned home safely. We spent Christmas together peacefully and joyfully as a family, including my mother-in-law," he said.

Hlophe thanked members of the public who reached out with messages of support and sought to reassure them that matters had stabilised.

"I can confirm that there is order, and my family is on good terms."

He concluded by saying that he and his wife had chosen reconciliation over conflict.

"Tracy and I have consciously chosen peace over conflict, respect over resentment, and unity over division," Hlophe said.

He added that the couple remains committed to handling their personal matters privately and with dignity.
