AWARD-WINNING R&B star Lordkez is buzzing that her unexpected collaboration with Cassper Nyovest is smashing it and lighting up summer.
Lordkez and Cassper recently dropped a remix of Lordkez's song titled Aweh.
The 26-year-old from Kimberley, who's based in Joburg, said she's over the moon to see their unexpected collaboration becoming a massive hit.
Lordkez, whose real name is Keziah Zoe Meyers, said when the original song was already picking up steam, Cassper congratulated her and asked if he could jump on the remix.
The musician, who recently scooped R&B/Soul Album of the year at the SAMAs, said her remix is more than a song - it's a celebration of language, culture and identity, masterfully woven through lyrical storytelling.

She said their collaboration came together in an unexpected way.
"The song was already picking up traction when Cassper reached out on TikTok after seeing clips of the video.
"He congratulated me and asked if he could be on a remix. Working with him and his team has been amazing," she said.
Lordkez, who normally sings in English, ventures into isiZulu, carrying music lovers through a poetic love journey in the chorus as she tenderly assures her love interest with 'Ngithi Ngihamba nawe' (I'm going with you).
She said it was a moment of vulnerability and devotion that showcased her fearless creativity and her ability to transcend language in the name of love.
She added that she didn't want to change the song too much from the heart of the original track.
"Cassper brought his own energy while staying true to what the song is about," she said.
The song and its music video have stolen many people's attention and is set to become the soundtrack of the summer.
