RESIDENTS of Makgophong Village in Zebediela, Limpopo, where Skeem Saam actress Amanda Manku is originally from are not happy with the court's decision.
Last week, the court dropped charges against policewoman Nonhlanhla Ngubo, who was arrested alongside Amanda's father, William Manku, who is her lover. They were arrested in January 2024.
The two were arrested alongside another co-accused, David Khoza for the murder of Amanda's mother and gogo that happened in 2021.
Nonhlanhla had been charged with conspiracy to murder, robbery with aggravated circumstances, attempted murder, two counts of murder, and defeating the ends of justice.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Limpopo spokeswoman Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, charges against Nonhlanhla were withdrawn as per the directive of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
"Accused number one abandoned bail from the start. The matter proceeded through closing arguments for the bail application brought by accused number two, William Manku. The matter has been postponed to 15 February 2024 for judgment on the bail application as brought by accused number two," she said.
The residents of Makgophong said they don't want to see William free.
"We were so heartbroken and angry that one of the accused is out because two people were killed. We don't want to see another one out because that will mean our justice system has failed us," they said.
They said they will keep supporting the Maphothoma family until the end of the case.
