A SOWETO man was left terrified after he came across a hair-raising knife wrapped in a red cloth allegedly used to create a bad spell on someone.
The man told Daily Sun that he discovered this while walking at Mahalefale Road, Mofolo Bridge on Monday, 4 December.
"I'm not okay. What I saw freaked me out. It was unexpected. How cruel can people be? This is daylight witchcraft."
He said that that he saw a sharp knife wrapped in a red cloth, and at this point, it represented a person.

He said there was a branch of a cut off tree next to it.
The man told Daily Sun he prayed so much so the spell wouldn't come on him.
"This thing is used for witchcraft where they use it to trap people. It can be used to kill someone. I think in this case a person is supposed to die by being stabbed," he said.
Sangoma Patrick Chauke told Daily Sun that according to the findings, a person who did this is killing a person.
He said that three places are used as a target in a spiritual kingdom and are spotted according to a ritual one wants to perform.
"One has to always choose a place where they want to kill their victim using muthi," he said.

The sangoma said that the knife wrapped with a red cloth represents danger, and it means that the person must die from being stabbed since the knife has been immersed into a muthi targeting a certain individual.

"When the person's name is called in that alter, the knife listens to the calling. Since the objects are planted under the bridge, the person who did this doesn't want his victim to be found once killed. Even when found, his body must not be in a recognisable state," said Patrick.
He said that the log represents a person, just like voodoo dolls.
