THE rocky barriers are almost at the end of each street.
Some streets in this kasi have become completely inaccessible.
Instead of steel boom gates, residents of Temong in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni have blocked the streets with rocks.
They said they were doing this to stop tsotsis from hijacking cars.
But these rocks are a nuisance to other motorists.
Motorists have tried to voice their concerns, but met the residents' anger.
And now they want the municipality to do something about it.
"We are now forced to use alternative routes because of these rocks. This is annoying!
"Almost every street is blocked with rocks. We don't know what the authorities are doing about this because I'm sure they often see them when patrolling," a motorist said.

The motorist said he once hit the rocks at night during load shedding, and the front of his car was damaged.
"These rocks are not a good idea. They even block the ambulances and police vehicles from entering the area during emergencies," said the motorist.
Some motorists said they would be happy if the matter was urgently addressed.
But resident Salamina Mphago said they decided to put the rocks because they experienced high crime in the area, with some cars being hijacked or stolen.
"Putting rocks on every street works for us. We don't have money to put up boom gates," Salamina said.
Ekurhuleni municipal spoesman Zweli Dlamini said he will notify the relevant department to address the matter.
