LIMPOPO Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe has warned that there will be zero-tolerance for lawlessness during the upcoming general election.
Law enforcement agencies are combat-ready to ensure everyone's safe and secured during the elections.
Hadebe said anyone with intentions to disrupt elections will be dealt with decisively and face the full might of the law.
"Police have been deployed on the ground, and additional resources have been made available across the province to safeguard polling stations and other critical areas. They're ready to deal with any eventualities, especially at identified hot-spot areas," said Hadebe.
This is to avoid a repeat of the Juju Valley in Seshego outside Polokwane incident, where two people were left with gunshot wounds and 10 others with injuries due to political violence that erupted on Sunday, 19 May.

Hadebe said operational plans have been developed to address potential threats, focusing on preventing and swiftly responding to violence or unrest during the election period.
"We have comprehensive measures in place to maintain law and order during the heightened election period. Law enforcement agencies, led by police, are working closely with the IEC, local government bodies and other relevant agencies to co-ordinate efforts and ensure a seamless and secure election process," she said.
Hadebe said joint operation centres have been established to facilitate real-time communication and rapid response in a bid to maintain peace and order during this period.
"Our officers are dedicated to ensuring that every citizen can exercise their right to vote in a safe and secure environment. Police also have a commitment to uphold democracy and the rule of law during this crucial time."
She urged the public to co-operate with law enforcement authorities and report any suspicious activities to help them maintain peace and order during this period.
"Public awareness campaigns are also conducted to educate the public about safety protocols and their role in maintaining a safe and secure environment," said Hadebe.
