FRIENDS, family and neighbours of Molly Mahlangu celebrated her life during a memorial service held at Heart to Heart venue in Amandasig, Akasia in Tshwane, this afternoon.

FRIENDS, family and neighbours of Molly Mahlangu celebrated her life during a memorial service held at Heart to Heart venue in Amandasig, Akasia in Tshwane, this afternoon.

The 59-year-old died in a crash in her H100 Hyundai bakkie near Akasia, Tshwane, last Thursday, 22 September.

Daily Sun published an article about her death on 28 September under the headline: "She picked her own coffin".

Just as the most famous events coordinator in Tshwane, Molly's memorial service was well decorated.

The hall was filled with bouquets of flowers and lit candles.

Mourners came to the memorial service dressed in style and piano songs were played during the memorial.

Daughter Nonhlanhla Modise danced to a piano song and celebrated her mum's life.

"I am celebrating my mum's life. I stand here very proud. My mum was very fearless and strong.

"She started selling vegetables, but look at what she had become. I am strong because of her," she said.

She said her mother mentored so many people.

"All these people were mentored by my mother. They are all business people, look at them now," she said.

She said her mother loved life.

"My mother saw everything and she was not afraid. She knew that I would continue where she left off," she said.

During her speech, Nonhlanhla said: "My mother, I am proud of you and I am happy that I am your daughter."

She said she was happy that she had the strength to talk about her mother.

"Mama, you have planted a seed and I will make sure that I water it," she said.

Molly's younger sister Joyce Mathibe said she was sorry to have frightened some mourners when she walked in because she looks like Molly.

She said Molly was in contact with God and that made her have peace.

Joyce said her sister always made her an MC at events.

"She also tried to get me into the property business. I told her that we are not the same and that I didn't like business. She joked and said that I will only have small money and it's true that's how I am," she said.

She said her sister was a top dog.

"This lady never left me behind. Whenever she took you to events with her, she'll buy you everything," she said.

She said Molly wanted everyone to do good.

"She would always organise every event, making sure that everything goes well. She was an angel in a human form because she was giving," she said.

"Go easy, my sister. Heavens are waiting for you. She is in a perfect place now," she said.

She said what Daily Sun wrote is true.

"People like to say that Daily Sun writes lies but no, what they wrote is true. She saw her death and funeral coming," she said.

Speakers said she taught them that love doesn't have boundaries and she created opportunities for everyone.

"She opened doors for us and we have learned to create opportunities for each other so that we can all get rich," said a speaker.

Molly's funeral service will start at her place in Akasia on Sunday morning at 7am.

Mourners will proceed to the Zandfontein Cemetery in Tshwane for her burial.
