Absalom continued to deny that he made a statement that implicated accused number one, Muzi Sibiya.

ABSALOM Zungu says if he dies, it would be because of his son Constable Skhumbuzo Zungu and the Senzo Meyiwa murder case's leading investigating officer Brigadier Bongani Gininda.

He was giving evidence on the late Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain's dragging murder trial in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Friday, 14 November.

Absalom continued to deny that he made a statement that implicated accused number one, Muzi Sibiya and accused number two Bongani Ntanzi.

According to his son, Constable Zungu and Brigadier Gininda, Absalom made and signed the statement that implicated the two and they told that to the court under oath.

Absalom was shown the statement Gininda said he signed and said it was not his signature.

On Friday, 14 November, Absalom (76) told the court if he's killed, he knows that it will be his son and Brigadier Gininda - because he knows what they are trying to hide.

Absalom said after his son testified in court, he called him, saying he was with Gininda and requested to meet him on a farm in Utrecht and that he should come alone and not tell anyone. But he refused.

Absalom admitted meeting Gininda but denied that he made the statement.

He said when Gininda phoned him and wanted to meet him, he told him to meet him at Newcastle Police Station, KZN because he no longer trusted him.

Absalom insisted that he didn't make the statement that implicated the accused.

He said Gininda requested him to come and testify and he will protect him to a point that he can even move him to another country, but he refused.

He said Gininda promised him bodyguards and he also refused.

He said he last met Gininda in Newcastle and no statement was made.
