SENIOR National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) official is in hot water.
The 47-year-old allegedly sexual assaulted a minor who is now 16 years old. Both the victim and the accused are from Dzanani Village in Limpopo.
According to the victim's family, the official allegedly assaulted her several times between 2022 and April 2025 when she was 13 years old. After he was arrested on 29 April, the accused allegedly attempted to bribe the family to silence them.
The girl's mum (57) said her daughter told them the accused allegedly took her to various locations after school, including hotels, bushes and his house, where he raped her. It is alleged the suspect used WhatsApp to communicate with the minor.
"When he was done abusing my daughter, he'd give her R100 or R50 and morning after pills," said the mum.
The distraught mum told Daily Sun she trusted the accused as he is their neighbour.
"I trusted him. I was friends with his wife and my daughter also played with his kids. Our relationship with the family is now ruined," she said.
The family also indicated that the girl's performance at school has dropped and she's repeating grade 10.
The girl's brother (32) said they believe the accused took advantage of her as they don't have a father figure at home.

"My younger sister and I were raised by our mum. We don't have a father figure. I believe he took advantage of that, he knew we can't do anything to protect ourselves," said the brother.
The family wants the accused to rot in jail.
"He is the man of the law, he knew what he was doing is wrong. He must rot in jail, he shouldn't get a bail," said the brother.
The accused made his first court appearance in the Dzanani Magistrates Court on 30 April facing a charge of rape.
He is set to return to court on Thursday, 8 May for profile and possible bail application.
NPA Limpopo spokeswoman, Mashudu Malabi-Dzangi said: "A senior official in the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions: Limpopo Division is facing a charge of rape of a 16-year-old girl. The names of both the victim and accused are withheld to protect the identity of the victim."
Limpopo police spokesman Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the police in the Mphephu policing precinct arrested a 47-year-old man in Dzanani Village for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl.
"The suspect was arrested on 29 April. A case of rape has been opened. Police investigations are currently underway," said Ledwaba.
