MADALA Mohloki Ramohloaki hires a new lawyer.
At first, Ramohloaki was represented by a Legal Aid Board lawyer.
On Friday, 10 January, the 74-year-old appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court, represented by new lawyer Kabelo Mogokare from Mogokare Attorneys Incorporated.
The case was postponed to Wednesday, 15 January. Ramohloaki remains in custody.
Mogokare said: "The case was postponed for the defence to get further information to attach in support of the accused's bail application."
He didn't want to elaborate further on the details to be added in support of his client's bail application.
Ramohloaki faces assault and breaking a protection order charges.
The madala from Palm Ridge in Ekurhuleni was arrested on Friday, 13 December 2024.

Anna Ramohloaki had obtained the protection order against him.
The couple has been married for 40 years, and the madala has since moved out to stay with his makhwapheni.
Gogo Anna, who currently stays alone in their matrimonial home, claimed the madala kept coming back to take furniture, violating the protection order.
It's alleged he cut the electricity supply to the main house, making gogo to rely on paraffin and candles, and sometimes forcing her to struggle without running water.
She reported the matter to the Eden Park Police Station. This led to the madala's arrest.
