ZULU throne contender Prince Simakade Zulu mourns the death of Inkosi Siphamandla Khumalo and his wife.
Prince Simakade, who still maintains that he is the Zulu king and is challenging King Misuzulu in court, has conveyed his condolences after Khumalo died with his wife in a hail of bullets while driving between Blood River and Dundee on their way home on Saturday, 28 October.
Inkosi Khumalo survived an assassination at his home in 2022.

Prince Simakade said he was disappointed that the government was not doing enough to protect amakhosi.
His spokesman, Prince Mxolisi kaBhekuzulu Zulu, said Prince Simakade was worried that even though everyone knew that Khumalo had survived the assassination attempt in 2022, hitmen finally managed to kill him.
"King Simakade views this as negligent for the government, especially as many amakhosi are being killed and no one is arrested," he said.
"While amakhosi are being killed, the government does not make sure that amakhosi are protected. It's surprising that the government does not end this war directed at amakhosi. It's clear that the government does not care for amakhosi."

He said they were still feeling pain for the recent killings of the amakhosi of the Mathonsi, Biyela, Mncube, Nxumalo, Ndaba, Mkhize and Msingaphansi clans.
Prince Simakade's spokesman said there was still no arrest for hitmen who gunned down the chairman of the Osuthu Traditional Council in 2022, while many of the izinduna have been killed.
"Even the Zulu royal house member, who is a brother to King Simakade, was gunned down in 2022 in Osuthu, Nongoma.
"Now it's the time for the government to protect amakhosi as they protect those in the parliament and councillors," he said.
KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube said she has convened an urgent meeting with the KZN Cogta and community safety and liaison to discuss the safety of amakhosi and induna following the recent murder of Khumalo.
"Our urgent meeting with these two departments at the coalface of safety and traditional leadership aims to come up with swift solutions, not to only beef up the protection of amakhosi but also to work together with various stakeholders to forestall these attacks and create an environment free of fear for our traditional leaders," she said.
