King Misuzulu’s union with Queen Nomzamo has long been surrounded by controversy.

CONFUSION has erupted over King Misuzulu's traditional "wedding".

The key question remains: will the king finally have a traditional wedding or not?

An invitation circulating on social media indicates the king is set to marry his third wife, Queen Nomzamo Myeni, on Sunday, 9 November at the KwaKhangelamankengane royal palace in Nongoma, KZN.

Strangely, King Misuzulu's spokesman claims to have "no idea about the wedding", yet inside sources confirm preparations are underway in both the royal and the Myeni families.

Misuzulu's union with Queen Nomzamo has long been surrounded by controversy and confusion.

Their wedding was first scheduled for 26 January but was unexpectedly called off on 18 January, shocking the nation.

Even after King Misuzulu's first wife, Queen Ntokozo "KaMayisela" Mayisela, lost her urgent court application to interdict the wedding and had her case struck off the roll by the Pietermaritzburg High Court, the wedding was still cancelled.

Queen KaMayisela rushed to court, claiming the king could not marry another woman while they were still in a civil marriage that prohibits it, but the court dismissed her application.

Notably, when the court was due to hear Queen KaMayisela's application on 20 January, the king strategically called off the wedding on 18 January.

An alleged invitation for King Misuzulu's marriage to Queen Nomzamo Myeni circulates online, but the royal house in Nongoma denies any knowledge of the event.

Daily Sun has also seen the official invitation card, complete with RSVP contact details.

The SunTeam contacted the number provided, and a woman named Thuli answered.

She said she's only handling RSVPs and is not authorised to speak to the media, referring Daily Sun to the royal house for any enquiries.

King Misuzulu's spokesman and royal house spokesman, Prince Thulani Zulu, told Daily Sun that he has no idea about the wedding.

"I have no idea. I know this will surprise you, but I will confirm one day," he said.

The big question now is whether the invitation is fake, and why the royal house is not distancing itself from it.

According to the invitation, a umkhehlo (pre-traditional wedding) is planned at Queen Nomzamo's home in Jozini on Friday, 7 November, with the traditional wedding set for Sunday at KwaKhangelamankengane royal palace.

Since King Misuzulu ascended the throne in 2021, he has paid lobola for his four wives and married his first wife, Queen Ntokozo Mayisela, in a civil ceremony. However, he has never held a traditional wedding with any of them.

Now, the question is: why is he bypassing his first and second wives to hold a traditional wedding with his third wife, Queen Nomzamo Myeni?
