IZANGOMA celebrate and thank amadlozi for their kindness and love.
They also thanked amadlozi for always protecting and blessing them.
"Our amadlozi are amazing and jealous of us as they don't want anyone to cause us pain," said the izangoma.
Traditional healer Charlotte "Boyabenyathi" Mathonsi (57) from B3 in Mamelodi West, Tshwane told Daily Sun she slaughtered chickens, two goats, brewed umqombothi, bought white gin, red brandy and wine to celebrate her amadlozi.

The celebration was held at her home in B3 on Saturday, 10 May.
"We performed rituals using umqombothi, brandy, gin and wine. My ancestors like these types of alcohol," she said.
She said she's grateful to amadlozi for everything they have done for her since she graduated in 2011.
"I was seriously ill before I trained to be a sangoma. My skin was peeling off my head and I'd find my skin on my pillows in the morning," she said.

"I'm completely healed. Amadlozi protected me from accidents. In 2021, I was seriously sick, vomiting blood. Look, I'm strong and healthy again," she said.
Charlotte said she has trained at least 33 amathwasa. Unfortunately, she has cut ties with seven, who were ill-disciplined.
"The gate is open for any of my thwasas who misbehave. They must go and never come back," she said.

She admitted there are evil izangoma and she distanced herself from them.
Another traditional healer, Tinny "Mahambayedwa" Mnguni (57) said: "This is a beautiful day for us. It's important to thank amadlozi. Few izangoma thank their ancestors.
"Other izangoma don't thank their ancestors but dump them and rush to church. Amadlozi are not evil spirits. It's like saying my parents are evil spirits. Izangoma are always tested and you can die if you are not strong."
Hlengiwe "Mahlalentabeni" Mtshali (38) said: "I'm grateful to my gobela and amadlozi. My relationships did not last. I now have a stable relationship and the man wants to marry me. Amadlozi give me life."
