MADALA Mohloki Ramohloaki finally gets bail.
The 74-year-old madala was granted R2 000 bail in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court in Ekurhuleni on Wednesday, 29 January.
Madala Mohloki faces charges of assault and violation of a protection order.
His lawyer, Kabelo Mogokare told the court they've secured an alternative address where his client can live if the court grants him bail.
"My client will abide by any court's conditions if he can be granted bail and won't interfere with the complainant. His health condition is not good as he was hospitalised at the correctional centre and missed a court date," said Mogokare.

The state prosecutor, Wille Xaba said they opposed bail as the complainant, madala Mohloki's wife, Anna, fears for her life.
"The accused's age is set to be of a very mature age and so is the complainant in this matter, but she's still receiving abuse at the hands of the accused. This shows that domestic violence has no boundaries, irrespective of age shape or colour," said Xaba.
Passing judgment, Magistrate Mandira Singh said the accused should abide by the bail conditions.

"You are not allowed to speak to the complainant and even go to her residential area. You need to attend court throughout the proceedings and failing to do so, a warrant of arrest will be issued and your bail will be forfeited to the state," said Singh.
The case was postponed to 26 February.
The madala from Palm Ridge was arrested on 13 December 2024. His wife, Anna, had obtained a protection order against him.
The couple has been married for 40 years, but has since separated, with the madala moving in with a makhwapheni.
