THE Zulu royal house is caught up in internal politics regarding the role of King Misuzulu's spokesman.
Royal family members are now debating which house should hold this role among the royal households.
Some reportedly plan to remove the current spokesman, Prince Thulani Zulu of Ezibindini royal palace, in the hopes of convincing the king to appoint their preferred candidate from a different house.
Inside sources told Daily Sun that a letter calling for Prince Thulani's removal is ready and awaiting King Misuzulu's signature, as family members continue to lobby for his dismissal.
Since ascending the throne in 2021, King Misuzulu has dismissed four spokesmen - Prince Thulani Zulu, Prince Africa Zulu of Onkweni royal palace, Prince Simphiwe Zulu of KwaMinyamanzi royal palace, and Prince Nkosinathi Zulu of KwaMandlakazi royal palace.
Misuzulu re-appointed Prince Thulani as his spokesman in April, after Thulani, who also served the late King Zwelithini, left the post in 2022.
Sources claimed some royal houses were unhappy with his re-appointment.
"Prince Thulani has experience because he worked with the late King Zwelithini for a long time, and he is reachable, while others were not reachable. That's why the king loves him.
"The letter to fire him, written by other members of the royal family, is finished and presented to the king, but it looks like the king doesn't want to fire him, and the king is not convinced by the reasons provided to fire him," the source told Daily Sun.

During his speech at the royal family peace meeting at eMashobeni royal palace in Pongola, KZN, on Wednesday, 29 October, King Misuzulu confirmed that members are persuading him to dismiss Prince Thulani.
"There are those who are telling me to fire Prince Thulani. They said I must fire him because I'm known for firing people. There are many people who are creating conflict within the royal house," he said.
Meanwhile, Prince Thulani said he was aware of a letter calling for his dismissal.
"I heard that the letter was ready, and it was just waiting for the meeting on 29 October, then it would get me fired.
"I want to say, whoever is in possession of that letter, he or she must just throw it away," he said.
