Orlando Pirates star Kamogelo Sebelebele has been hailed as a hero after rescuing his team twice in a row.

After he recently helped his team equalise against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN 8 semi-finals, the 23-year-old attacker and defender was a hero when he made sure his team secured three points for the first time in PSL football matches this season.

Amabhakabhaka started this season on a disappointing note, losing two games and six points in a row, leaving fans disappointed.

On Wednesday night, 20 August, Sebelebele brought smiles to the fans again by scoring a crucial goal and making sure his team collected a full three points against Stellenbosch FC at Orlando Stadium.

After the football match, he was named man of the match for his effort in attacking and defending to make sure the opponent didn't score to equalise.

He started playing right wing and ended playing right back.

Happy Orlando Pirates fans also gave him flowers after the game to appreciate his effort to rescue them from the embarrassment of losing many points on the log.

Sebelebele said he thanks God for his talent and coaches for giving him an opportunity to play for Orlando Pirates.

"I realised that the goalkeeper was not in his position, and I kicked the ball to the far post. I'm playing all right foot positions regardless of back or front.

"It's very special to play for Orlando Pirates; the supporters are giving us confidence, and I thank the teammates for welcoming me and supporting me. They made me able to settle in this team.

"I understand that fans get frustrated when we are losing and we are fixing that and making them happy because they pay to come to the stadium to watch us and we must win for them," he said.

Now Orlando Pirates are standing at number eleven on the log while their rival Kaizer Chiefs is sitting at number two because they haven't lost any games since the season started.

Sebelebele helped Amabhakabhaka equalise against Mamelodi Sundowns during the MTN 8 semi-final first leg football match held at Orlando Stadium on Saturday, 16 August.

Sundowns were leading Pirates with 1-0 and he managed to equalise, and the football match ended 1-1 although Sundowns will have an away goal advantage when they play again at Sundowns' home ground on Saturday, 23 August.
