EXCITEMENT galore as Soweto Derby draws closer.
The much-anticipated back-to-back Soweto Derbies between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs set for 3 and 10 May are nearing, igniting excitement among diski fans.
Among the most passionate voices is Thami Mashele, popularly known as PhD from Naledi, Soweto, who has become recognised as the unofficial spokesman for the Buccaneers.
Thami, a passionate Orlando Pirates fan, has supported the team since childhood.
Over the years, he has become a prominent figure in local football circles and is known for his vibrant personality and deep-rooted commitment to the club and its community of supporters.
Speaking to Daily Sun, PhD said when you talk about Orlando Pirates, it can't just be about you.

"You have to consider the millions of fans you're representing. It's about the entire Buccaneers family," he said.
Often seen rallying fans at stadiums or sharing emotional commentary online, PhD views his support as a responsibility, not just an expression of passion.
He said he draws inspiration from fans from all walks of life. Be they young boys attending their first game or elders who have been following the club for decades.
"When I speak about Pirates, I'm speaking with the voice of those fans. That's where my creativity comes from."
As Pirates prepare for yet another final, PhD reflects on the club's long history in the Premier Soccer League.
"We know joy and pain. Even when we celebrate, we understand loss and accept it. That's part of what makes us who we are," he said.
