ORLANDO Pirates kept their momentum going in the Betway Premiership.
This after claiming a crucial 2-0 victory over Chippa United at a packed Orlando Stadium on Tuesday, 25 November.
The win came at an important time for the Buccaneers, who are pushing hard to climb the league table and keep pressure on the defending champions.
From the first whistle, both Pirates and Chippa showed real intent. The teams created early chances, moved the ball with purpose, and showed they were not in Soweto for a casual outing. Fans were treated to an energetic opening half as both sides pushed for control.
Even though the stadium atmosphere was buzzing, neither team could convert their opportunities, and the first 45 minutes ended in a goalless draw.
When the second half kicked off, Pirates returned to the pitch with renewed determination. The Sea Robbers pressed higher, attacked with confidence, and looked far more threatening than before.

Chippa tried to absorb the pressure and rely on counterattacks, but Pirates kept piling on the heat as they searched for a breakthrough.
That moment finally arrived in the 74th minute when super-sub Evidence Makgopa connected with a brilliant assist from youngster Relebohile Mofokeng, smashing home the opener that sent the crowd into celebration.
The goal lifted the Buccaneers, who then controlled the game with calmness and maturity as the minutes ticked away.
But Pirates were not done. Deep into stoppage time, another super-sub, Oswin Appollis, stepped up to put the match to bed. He sealed the victory with a composed finish in the 90+ minute, securing maximum points for his side and ensuring that Chippa had no way back.
The hard-fought result pushed Pirates up to second place on the table with 25 points, level with Mamelodi Sundowns as the title race continues to heat up heading into the festive period.
