TSHIAMO Makamedi is already making waves in the golf world.
Now, the 10-year-old Tshiamo from Bramley View in Joburg is to swing for South Africa in Namibia.
The young talent will represent Mzansi at the Stars of Africa Golf Tournament to be held in Namibia. He will leave the country on Sunday, 30 November, to compete against some of the continent's best junior golfers and players from around the globe.
The tournament will be played under the double par rule.
Tshiamo's journey began at age seven, when he accompanied his dad, Danny Makamedi, to golf games.
Danny, an amateur golfer himself, spotted his son's natural talent and gave him a driver and a three-wood to practice.

"He started hitting the ball on the fairways, and I immediately saw he had the gift," said Danny.
He said he was encouraged by other golfers, and registered Tshiamo with SA Kids Golf, and he began competing in monthly Order of Merit tournaments.
Tshiamo's dedication has already earned him major accolades.
He won the 2024/25 Spirit of the Golfer Award for showing the spirit on and off the course, and back-to-back, he also took home the Most Improved Golfer Award.
In August 2025, Tshiamo competed in the Junior Africa Championship, finishing eighth, which secured him a spot at the upcoming Stars of Africa Tournament, sanctioned by the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Despite his young age, Tshiamo is focused and determined.
"I always feel proud representing South Africa," he said.
"I've been practising every day ahead of Namibia, and I'm excited to hit the course."
Danny, who doubles up as coach and mentor, said: "I'm proud, but I can't take all the credit.
"My wife Lebohang Makamedi, his brother Tshepang, his sister Tshenolo, and the whole family are involved in making sure he's prepared, fed, and supported for every game."
Tshiamo has already gained international experience.
In 2024, he finished second in the Botswana Delta Junior Championship, and earlier in 2025, he placed sixth.
His favourite club? The driver is perfect for hitting long, accurate shots.
Tshiamo said representing Mzansi and travelling internationally is both thrilling and inspiring.
"I feel excited to travel and compete. I want to keep improving and make South Africa proud," he said.
