Twenty-four young karate athletes from Ekurhuleni, including deaf competitors, have qualified for a prestigious tournament in Japan but need financial support to make their dream a reality.

The tournament will be held between Friday, 21 and Sunday, 23 February at various venues in Japan.

Mbali said training preparations had to change completely.

Masedisa encourages young people to pursue their goals in all areas, academically and in sports.

"Lucky inspired many of us to join karate. He had a passion for the sport."

I want to conquer the world and come back with a medal.
