ANELE Mdoda's scary encounter with e-hailing driver in Cape Town.
The media personality shared a terrifying experience with an e-hailing driver in Cape Town on Sunday night, 23 February.
The 40-year-old 947 radio host took to social media to reveal the disturbing incident that left her fearing for her safety.
Anele, a Joburg-based producer, businesswoman, and author, posted videos of an altercation with the driver who allegedly threatened her.
"My Uber driver tonight was upset that I had picked the 'don't talk to me' option. He then said, ‘In my country, we would rape you to teach you a lesson'. I had to fake being on Instagram Live to get home safe," she wrote on X.
Anele detailed how she recorded the incident for her safety.
"When he got to my hotel, he started shouting at me. I recorded the incident, and a couple nearby could see I was in distress. I apologise for my language. I was in danger," said Anele.
Following the ordeal, Anele expressed gratitude for the support and announced her decision to take legal action.

"Thank you for all the comments on this Uber saga, including those who think I'm in the wrong. I'm going to press charges today. Twitter won't make sure that man never threatens another woman again, the law will," said Anele.
When contacted for a comment, Anele's PR team said: "Anele is currently not available for interviews. She is entrusting law enforcement to handle the situation."
Anele confirmed the police involvement in the matter.
"Uber has reached out and are taking the matter seriously. I won't comment further on the matter. Police are involved as well. Thank you," she said.
Uber has yet to issue an official response.
Police spokesman Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that an intimidation case has been opened.
"The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, and no arrest has been made yet," he said.
The incident has sparked concern on social media, prompting calls for improved safety measures for e-hailing services.
