FORMER IDOLS contestant Basetsana Kolwane is finally stepping into the spotlight on her own terms.
After appearing on Idols and The Voice and recording songs with big names like DJ Zinhle and Prince Kaybee, she's now ready to release her very first single.
Her single Amalobolo will be released on Friday, 29 August.
The 28-year-old from Klerksdorp in North West told Daily Sun she was proud to finally get into the studio to focus on her own music.

"For me, it's a big deal. It shows me that I'm growing. Not that I haven't been growing, but I can see more growth ahead. It makes me feel like all my hard work over the years is paying off," she said.
Basetsana, professionally known just as Basetsana, started her journey in music in 2014. She started small but realised she was meant for bigger things.
"I enjoy music because of the lyrics. I felt I needed to do more than just sing for my family at home, and also stop being a cover artist," she said.
She auditioned for The Voice of Africa and later for Idols in 2017, reaching the top 16 in season 13.
"When I was on Idols, I dropped out of school. I was studying at UJ. I dropped out because I wanted to focus on music. Then I went to AFDA so I could learn more about the business side of music and also about songwriting," she said.
Now, Basetsana is ready to share her own voice with the world through her first single, Amalobolo.
"I am working on my first ever single, called Amalobola. I'm quite nervous and excited because it's me doing something on my own, not as a featured artist. I'm nervous, but I'm excited. I'm releasing Amalobola soon.
"Looking ahead, I'm definitely planning an EP, definitely planning on more music. The music will only stop when I stop breathing. Till my last breath," Basetsana said.
