FORMER Skeem Saam actor Macks Senatla Papo has embarked on a spiritual journey.
The 58-year-old from Mamelodi West in Tshwane, who played the villainous Marothi on the popular SABC1 soapie, told Daily Sun he heeded to his calling in August 2023 and is still on the journey.
Where it all began
He said he suspected he might have a calling in 2000. It was confirmed by a traditional healer, whom he consulted in 2021.
"My spiritual journey started not giving me any peace. I was restless, knowing I have a debt of a spiritual journey. I'm about to complete my journey as a prophet and will be healing people with water, iziwasho, and prayers," he said.
Macks said his calling is to become a prophet and in two years' time, he will be healing people.
He further said as a prophet in training, the emphasis is on prayer in his journey.

I want to be close to my ancestors
"I believe in the power of prayer. I pray every day. I have changed my diet. I eat well and don't eat junk food anymore. I like fresh fish, green vegetables and fruit, including traditional morogo," he said.
Macks said he drinks a lot of water, eats a fruit every day, and exercises daily.
He said that eating vegetables had brought back the strength he had lost when he started suffering physically due to his calling.
"In 2022, I lost weight, appetite, and interest in life, and I stayed alone in Mamelodi. I came back to kasi to be part of my journey, close to my ancestors, and had to sleep with them."

Macks on rumours he's broke
He said he has never been down and out.
"I have never been broke. I was spiritually down," he said.
Macks said he has been in the entertainment industry for over 30 years and is currently an ambassador for Aeon Day Spa.
His message to family, friends, and fans is if you don't answer your calling, you lose a lot of things in life.

He said he is healed and single, and is focusing on his growth. He said people must expect a lot of projects from him in the entertainment industry.
His manager Levy Ndonyane said: "Working with Macks is very nice. He is charismatic and is full of jokes and life. Preparation for him is key in the industry."
