FIRED Ukhozi FM presenter Sibusiso "Sbu" Buthelezi has finally broken his silence.

The radio presenter allegedly scammed some people which led to him being fired by Ukhozi FM.

Sbu was also caught by an anti-crime forum, Isikebhe last week after he went into hiding.

He trended on social media when Isikebhe broke into his home in Nquthu, KZN after the Msibi family reported him for scamming them of R600 000. This was after he allegedly lured them into a failed poultry business called Abombuso Poultry Farm.

After being caught, Sbu promised to pay back the money on a recorded video, where he said he'll make the first payment on 30 June and the balance on 15 July.

Good Samaritans who know what Isikebhe are capable of, started a massive donation on Facebook to help Sbu before the forum gets their hands on him again.

On Wednesday, 28 June, Buthelezi went live on his Facebook page and said his intention with Abombuso Poultry Farm was not to scam people, but he wanted to have a big joint business with them.

"I started Abombuso in 2014 and wished to have 15 fully operational companies after 10 years. I was inspired by the Bidwest company because I liked the way they do their things as a group of companies.

"Abombuso Poultry Farm, a subsidiary of Abombuso Investment Group, is the one which had bad luck. I think it is because it was growing fast, and it faced many challenges," he said.

Sbu said the main reason his business faced many challenges was because he didn't run it alone, but with other people to make history.

"The truth is that although many people think that there was no company at all and it was a scam, the truth is that it was my big wish to have a business with many people.

"People failed me. The truth must be known. I invited them to the Royal hotel telling them about the idea of the company and I told them that if they agree I will register a company and go to lawyers with them to do a memorandum of incorporation," he said.

He said he did that in 2021 and it was successful in 2022.

"I wanted all of them to be shareholders in the company. As Abombuso we thought that we will be a respected poultry farmer in Mzansi.

"We faced many challenges; we had a good idea. It is not over to me, and I will still go back because there are many people who still support me," he said.

Sbu said he will bounce back on his business, but he will no longer include other people because he fears them.

"It's true that some people are supporting me, and they remembered that even though my business didn't go according to my plans, I served people in a good way when I worked for Ukhozi FM for 14 years.

"I worked for Ukhozi FM with integrity, but I was fired because of my company, and I will explain that another day," he said.
