Ingle was the master of the ceremony during the memorial service.

He said that the family must never lose hope during this difficult time.

"I will always look after our kids, Nompilo. I know it's not going to be easy, but do promise you I will do my best," he said.

The musician said he was hurt by his wife's death and felt lost as she was the only person who always hyped him.

Thebe Pali, Sechaba's younger brother, said Nompilo was a good friend and a loving partner.

"She was everything to us as a family. We are grateful to have experienced her in our lives.

"She was a happy person and loved everyone. She will smile with you no matter what state she is in," he said.

Reverend Nkosinathi Nombula said they were sorry to Kunene's family. "We are sorry as the Pali family. We are all hurt, and your daughter died in our hands," he said.

He said if Sechaba loved Nompilo, he must always be there for the family, even when his wife is no more.

Singer Khuleka Chilli said he wishes the family well, and he prays they remain strong as they are.

He said their pain would one day go away.

Nompilo will be buried in Pongola, KZN on Saturday, 23 September.
