Gospel star has been to hell and back

THE past five years have been tough for gospel singer, Luyanda Ramatswi.

From being poisoned in 2018, losing both his parents in 2019 to surviving a car accident in 2022.

The 39-year-old from Atteridgeville in Tshwane opened up to Daily Sun about his struggles and his healing process.

"Challenges of life will never stop me from the love of God. I saw God protecting me in a car accident that ended up in me spending two weeks in hospital in 2022, but I kept praying for restoration.

"Being poisoned in 2018 was one of the challenges I never thought of, but the Lord refused with my life. I feel the Lord has more in store for me. He ordained and anointed me to preach the good news to His people and our sick world. I also lost both my parents in 2019. It's been a tough five years," he said.

Luyanda said the devil is behind all these challenges, but he won't let him win.

"I've accepted that if you are a child of God these things happen, and God always gives us a testimony to share with His people to strengthen them. Singing gospel is something else. Every time you sing, you fight the spirits and rebuke the demons. When you sing gospel, the atmosphere starts to change.

"So that's why demons start to take chances and try to harm us. When Jesus Christ was at the fasting prayer at the mountain he faced Satan's challenge," he said.

Luyanda will be sharing his experiences in his upcoming EP titled O Morena Oa Marena, which will be released on 22 March.

"The EP has six uplifting songs that will restore the faith of our fellow South Africans as we have lost many relatives and friends due to Covid-19 and other challenges we face daily.

"I featured Gospel Princess Kholeka on Retlogele Satane. Working with her was a dream come true. I also featured Thapelo Tsotetsi on Ndophalala," Luyanda said.
