She's set to release her debut single, titled Ndobalekela Kuphi on Friday, 11 April.

JOYOUS Celebration singer Esethu Siwe is excited to pursue her solo career.

The Ndenzele Uncedo hitmaker has decided that 2025 will be the year she releases her own music and does things her way.

Esethu, from Nyanga in Cape Town, has been part of the gospel choir for nearly a decade.

However, she experienced some anxiety about going solo, uncertain whether people would appreciate her music.

"My solo journey has been filled with excitement. I recently recorded my live album, which was such a significant moment for me. Of course, there's a bit of anxiety. I wonder how people will receive the music, but at the same time, I am excited. I can't wait for people to hear my heart and experience this solo project.

"So far, there hasn't been too much happening beyond the recording itself, but the response I've already seen from people anticipating my work makes me happy. I know they're excited to hear what I've been working on, and that's a great feeling," she said.

"Stepping into a solo career was a decision deeply rooted in faith. I felt in my spirit that it was time. If there's one thing I have always prayed about, it's God's timing.

"I've always asked Him to speak, and I've been clear with Him that when the time is right, He must make it happen. I truly believe that if it wasn't time for me to go solo, it wouldn't have happened," she said.

Esethu assured her fans that she isn't leaving Joyous Celebration just yet.

"I'm still with Joyous Celebration. I'm just pursuing my solo career at the same time, and I'm having an amazing time. Joyous has always been more than just a choir. It's an institution of learning and growth. Every day, I'm growing - both musically and spiritually.

"The love I have received from the Joyous family, from the team to the fans, has been overwhelming. Seeing how people receive my voice, music, and sound, even through streaming numbers, has been incredible. It still is an amazing time because, of course, I'm still here," she said.

Her album will drop later in 2025.
