GAGASI FM's content producer Siphelele Nzuza is motivated after his second big recognition.
The 29-year-old producer from Empangeni, KZN, scooped the Best Content Producer Award during the Telkom SA Radio Awards held at Sandton Convention Centre, north of Joburg on Saturday, 6 December.
The award marked his second big recognition in his radio career after he scooped Radio Industry Bright Star in 2022 at the same awards.
He told Daily Sun that the recognition has inspired him to aim higher and made him hungry to make more history.
"I'm thrilled, I'm honoured and I'm over the moon. This means more to me. For everyone from Empangeni in the Ndabayakhe area in Umhlathuze Municipality, this is for you. And everyone from KZN, this is for you. Everyone who is a loyal Gagasi FM supporter and listener, this is for you.
"This is for someone who believes it's impossible, and this is for someone who believes he or she is not worth the opportunity. We are here today because of dedication, because of hard work," he said.
Siphelele said he's happy for the opportunity to be crowned the best content producer.

"This means a lot to me. I'm willing to grow more in my career. I feel like there's a lot to do, there's a lot of history to make, especially in the broadcasting industry.
"I'm willing to spread my wings in many departments within the sector, within the industry, be part of decision making, be part of strategy making for every radio brand or TV brand out there. Even the brand Gagasi FM itself is big enough to have individuals like me contribute to its growth for future generations to come.
"I'm happy for this opportunity and I'd love to thank everyone who has been there for me in making sure we put together a good show," he said.
Siphelele said he was not expecting the win because there were too many fish in the sea, but he knew his work was equal to the task of the people who were in the category.
"I knew I was one of the best producers in the country, but to make it to the finale and be crowned best producer, I was not expecting this one.
"You know what, when you produce something, it's coming from your heart to the people. It's for them to decide, it's for them to support the content and react to the content you produce, and this award is actually proof that people are seeing what we are doing and experiencing something different from my craft," he said.
He started his radio career in 2020 as an intern and ended up being hired as the content producer.
Now Siphelele is the producer of the current affairs and talk show, Indaba, presented by legendary broadcaster Alex Mthiyane, while he is also a digital producer for sport show Extra Time.
