Celazimnike Mtshali accuses Ukhozi FM of not playing his new music.

He said he's not sure if there's a third force that is in a mission to stop him in the music industry.

LEGENDARY maskandi singer Celazimnike Mtshali is accusing Ukhozi FM of being selective and not playing his new music.

Celezimnike from Msinga in KZN said he submitted his new album, titled Inj'uqhwayilahle in February, but his new music has not been played.

He said he's surprised that many other artists' albums who were released after his are enjoying airplay while Ukhozi keeps playing his old songs.

Celazimnike, who released his first album in 1995, told Daily Sun that being ignore by Ukhozi FM hurts him because many of his fans listen to the station.

"My fans are shouting at me asking why I didn't submit my new music to Ukhozi FM as they keep listening to my old music.

"It hurt me that I submitted my music via email and followed all their procedures as I normally do in other years," he said.

The Amanxiwa hitmaker said he feels Ukhozi FM is being selective, and it has favourites in the music industry.

"They are doing what I feel will be bad because Ukhozi FM is like a father to us as musicians and it should not have a favourite. I'm still confused and hurt that other artists who released music after my album are enjoying airplay.

"I did the follow up many times when and called the maskandi show presenter Bheka ‘BK' Mchunu and producer Mdonso Ngcobo and they both kept promising me that my song will be played," he said.

Celezimnike said he is not sure if there's a third force that is in the mission to stop him in the music industry.

"What is happening makes me suspicious because all these years Ukhozi FM was playing my new music without any problems.

"Even in festivals, event organizers are just ignoring me, not booking me and treating me like I'm not existing," he said.

SABC acting group executive: corporate affairs and marketing Mmoni Seapolelo told Daily Sun that Ukhozi FM would like to continuously encourage artists who submit their music, to follow-up on their submissions and send queries directly to the station every Wednesday via formal processes.

"The station has on numerous occasions, through the Sgiya Ngengoma show, reminded artists of this procedure.

"It must be further noted that presenters on SABC radio stations are not in a position to decide what music gets airplay, as that is the responsibility of the respective music committees, guided by their music policies. Artists should therefore refrain from contacting on-air presenters in this regard," she said.
