AYABULELA "AyaProw" Phakade has finally broken his silence on why he left Podcast and Chill with MacG.
The Cape Town-born sound engineer, DJ, and content producer opened up in episode 7 of Cultures Biggest Podcast, where he said the decision was all about growth.
His sudden exit in 2022 sparked speculation from fans that he and host MacG had a fallout. AyaProw has now made it clear that his departure was a personal choice to focus on growth and building his own brand
"I needed the company to grow, my company and my personal growth," he said.
AyaProw said after working nine years at eMedia, he wanted freedom to do his own thing. He's now based in Joburg, working as a content producer at Y and running his own company, BiggFunMedia.
"I made the sacrifice of leaving the podcast, which put me in a great position to tap into other things," he said.

He revealed that even before joining the podcast, he had plans for his future. But things changed when disagreements started behind the scenes.
"I told them what I wanted to do. But later there were a lot of disagreements, and I realised I had to leave so I could grow myself," he said.
Although the journey wasn't easy in the beginning, AyaProw said he's grateful for how things turned out.
"It got difficult at the start, but it came together so beautifully. Every day I thank God this is my purpose," he said.
AyaProw spent nearly two years as the sound engineer for Podcast and Chill, one of Africa's biggest podcasts. He played a key role behind the scenes, handling audio production and sometimes adding his voice on-air.
