Bouwer said the interview processes included interviews to learn more about the contestants, their personalities, passion for charity, and understanding of the Miss World pageant, among other things.
"The finalists come from varied backgrounds and experiences, including two doctors and a lawyer. What unites them is a vision for national development through the empowerment of women," Carol said.
She further revealed that hundreds of eligible beauty contestants from across all nine provinces participated in pre-qualification rounds during the past few months, but only 12 made it.
The finalists have now been selected to compete for the Miss World South Africa final in October.
This is considered a steppingstone to participate and win the title of Miss World in India, on 9 December 2023.
