DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small want dancers across Mzansi to showcase their moves.

THE Scorpion Kings have officially launched a dance challenge ahead of their highly anticipated Loftus concert and the internet can't get enough.

Over the weekend on 28 June, DJ Maphorisa set Soweto's Finest Dance Studio on fire with the launch of the hashtag #ScorpionKingsDanceChallenge.

The space was buzzing with excitement as young dancers pulled up to showcase their best moves alongside their idol, all hoping to leave their mark on the Amapiano movement.

The challenge is open to dancers across Mzansi. It's more than just a vibe, it's a call to be part of history. Spearheaded by the iconic Soweto's Finest crew and backed by DJ Maphorisa (37) and Kabza De Small (32), also known as the Scorpion Kings, the challenge celebrates the culture that has made Amapiano a global sensation.

"This culture moves when we move. Dancers have been at the frontlines of the Amapiano wave, and we're excited to put that energy front and centre," said DJ Maphorisa.

Amapiano stars Young Stunna and Uncool MC also joined in on the Scorpion Kings Dance Challenge at the soweto finest dance studio in Joburg.

The goal is to amplify the vital role dancers have played in taking the Amapiano sound worldwide, and to honour the communities that keep it alive.

Amapiano stars Young Stunna and Uncool MC also joined the studio sessions, bringing the energy, inspiration, and support that make the genre more than just music - it's a movement.

The countdown has officially begun for Scorpion Kings Live with Friends, set to take place on Friday, 29 August at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

Previously speaking to Daily Sun, Tshidi Mongalo, Executive Producer of the show and founder of Montshabi Projects, said the countdown has officially begun.

"This very broad team, made up of skilled, excited and fresh talent ranging from creative direction, music composition and arranging, to brand visuals, logistics, admin, and legal, continues to work behind the scenes to produce an international, quality live show that celebrates our homegrown sound.

"It's going to keep the audience on their feet from start to finish. As the Executive Producer, I cannot wait for that full stadium standing ovation, that will be the biggest pat on the back for the whole team," she said.
