JOY and love were the order of the day for boys.
This after Dlalisa Moyeni Foundation hosted the Dlalisa Moyeni Boys Conference at Mamelodi West Central Soccer Grounds in Tshwane on Saturday, 25 November.
The event is meant to develop a boy child in the community. The CEO of the foundation, Tumisang Skosana, said the love she has for the boys comes from her husband Bongani Skosana, who is the chairman of the foundation and grew up without a father. She said her husband knows how it's like to grow without a father.
She said the foundation is giving the boys love of a father and the treatment.
"We will continue helping the boys even after completing their matric. This is humbling, we are just people and God has allowed us to get such a great work," she said.
She said the foundation started in 2020 giving out food.
"Doors are still open for boys to come and get help," she said.

Former Gauteng premier David Makhura said the crisis of a boy child is an international problem.
"Many boys are not good in reading and writing. A child with a lot of energy must do a lot of sport," he said.
Makhura said boys are more likely to drop out of school in certain condition.
"We have crisis of boy child. Boys, it's not your problem. It's a society problem," said Makhura.
Mahlatse Seloma (18) from Ribane Laka Secondary School said he was grateful to the foundation for showing them love, adding that they appreciated the certificates and gifts they received at the event.
"I'd love to further my education in something that deals with health," he said.
Lethabo Hamese (17), who is in the mentorship programme of Dlalisa Moyeni Foundation, encouraged other boys to live like winners because the pprogramme has pushed him to greater heights.
"I'm pushing myself every day to be better and my journey has been educational as we are family," he said.
"Furthermore, the foundation wants us to be great people and the boy child to succeed. The programme has helped me to reach my potential. I know I will be big and succeed," said Lethabo.
Actor, producer and director Kagiso Modupe motivated the boys and told them to never give up in life.
"Every time we go to difficulties but just say to yourself the dog is not dead yet," he said.
Kagiso also told the boys to stop feeling sorry for themselves.
