ZINTLE spent the whole day on Saturday, 6 September, with her mum.
Later, she told her mum that she was going out to chill with her friends.
When she returned, she got into her room and allegedly hanged herself.
To her family's shock, they found her hanging from the rafters of her bedroom on Sunday morning, 7 September.
Her devastated mum, Nolwazi Jentu from Barcelona in Etwatwa, Ekurhuleni, said she regrets not being there when Zintle Jentu (17) took her life.
She said on Sunday, 7 September, when she returned, she found neighbours in her yard, with her other kids crying.
"I was told Zintle hanged herself, and I walked into her room trying to hold her, but I was stopped from doing so.
"Maybe I could have stopped her from committing suicide," she said.

Nolwazi said they don't have answers as Zintle didn't leave a suicide note.
"She was a bubbly child. On Saturday, she was the happiest. It never crossed my mind that later that day, Zintle would kill herself."

Her dad, Klaas Mahlangu, was at work in Tshwane when the incident happened.
"I received a call that my daughter had taken her life, and it shook me to the core. She was a bubbly person who seemed not to be troubled by anything," he said.
Her parents are scrambling for answers, asking themselves where they could have gone wrong.
