RESIDENTS of Daveyton in Ekurhuleni want justice after four teenagers were allegedly raped.
The young girls, aged between 12 and 13, were sexually molested, allegedly by a neighbour who is a hospital porter. When confronted by the girls' families, the man allegedly offered each family a goat as damages.
The angry families turned down the offer and want the man arrested.
The mother of one of the girls said when her daughter complained about an infection, she became concerned. "I asked where she got it from and whether she has started dating," said the mother.
She said her daughter (12) confessed that their neighbour has been having sex with her and her three friends since December 2023.
"My daughter said after sleeping with them, the man would give each one of them R100 and told them not to tell anyone or else he'd harm them," said the mother.

"I'm so hurt that my daughter had to experience such a thing. She should enjoy her age of innocence, but someone decided to rob her of that. It's painful as a mother to see your daughter go through this."
Another mother said: "Him offering us goats shows that our children's lives are cheap, and he takes us for granted. Gone are the days when people used to rape women and children and offered damages. We want him in jail."
Ekurhuleni district police spokeswoman Captain Nelda Sekgobela said rape cases were opened and are being investigated by Benoni FCS.
She said the suspect is on the run and the police are looking for him.
