MOST-WANTED thugs often try to evade arrest by hiding, making it difficult for cops to find them.
But a 19-year-old suspect, wanted for murder, made things a little easier for cops.
As he made his way to his hideout in Nongoma, KZN, he hitchhiked in an effort to reach town and go into hiding.
Unfortunately for him, his plan backfired when the police spotted him hitchhiking, offered him a ride, and easily arrested him.

KZN cops spokesman, Colonel Robert Netshiunda said police in Richards Bay arrested a 19-year-old suspect who was wanted for the murder of 21-year-old Khanya Mthembu, whom he allegedly stabbed to death in the Mzingazi area on 8 September 2024.
"On Wednesday night, 11 September 2024, Richards Bay Crime Prevention police officers gathered intelligence about a suspect who was hitchhiking at the Madlankala area in Esikhaleni as he wanted to escape to his hideout in Nongoma," Netshiunda said.
He said an operation was immediately put in motion, and the suspect was offered a lift by a police officer driving an unmarked police vehicle.
"The police officer pulled over at a filling station and tactically requested back-up, leading to the suspect's arrest."
Netshiunda said information at the police's disposal suggests the suspect and the deceased victim had an altercation at a tavern, and when the victim left the tavern, the suspect reportedly followed him and stabbed him to death next to a sports field.
The suspect is due to appear in the Richards Bay Magistrates Court soon.
