A TRAGIC incident occurred in Sicelo, Meyerton in Midvaal, where Nasiphi Ludwele (35) and her three children tragically died due to coal stove inhalation.
The incident took place overnight on Friday, 14 June, in their two-room house.
Nasiphi's husband is currently in the hospital, recovering.
The family was discovered on Saturday afternoon, 15 June, by a relative, who is also the gogo of the dead kids.
The children, aged 16, seven, and two months old, succumbed to coal inhalation.
Nolizwi Gogotya (50), Nasiphi's mother, expressed her distress to Daily Sun, stating she had always advised her daughter against using coal, preferring wood instead due to safety concerns.

"I'm very angry with my daughter as she didn't listen to me and chose to use this dangerous coal. They had never slept with the stove in the house before, and why they did on that Friday remains a mystery," said Nolizwi.
According to resident Mokalo Nkotopane (45), typically uses coal and wood to heat their homes during winter due to the high cost of electricity.
"We are now going to be scared to use these mini stoves, thinking they are safer than imbawula, but they kill the same way. We don't buy heaters because no one has connected electricity illegally, as the Midvaal Municipality is strict with water and electricity regulations," Mokalo said.
Gauteng police spokeswoman, Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, confirmed that an inquest docket has been opened to investigate the deaths.
