Upon his return, Thomas said there was blood all over.

GOGO Maria Tsotetsi was hacked to death, and her daughter, who was fighting for her life at Sebokeng Hospital, has also died.

This is after they were both hacked at their home in Evaton West, in the Vaal, on Wednesday, 7 August.

Maria Tsotetsi (88) and her daughter Annah Tsotetsi (66) were allegedly robbed by a woman and her alleged boyfriend who came to them and asked for an R800 loan from Annah, as she runs a mashonisa business.

According to Thomas Tshabalala (64), who spoke to Daily Sun, his lover Annah runs a loan shark business.

On Wednesday 7 August around 10am, he decided to go to the bank to deposit money for their child who's at varsity. He said before he left the house, a young woman arrived to borrow R800.

"My wife told her she couldn't lend her money as she's not a regular client, but the woman begged her. As I went out, I met a young man sitting outside who said he was accompanying the young woman to our house. I left my family with the two young people as I went to the mall opposite my house," the madala said.

Upon his return, Thomas said he found blood all over.

"When I got back, I found blood all over, especially where Annah and Maria were sitting. Their bodies were dragged to another room, and I heard the scream of my partner asking for help while gogo had already lost her life. The two young people I left in the house with them were nowhere to be found," he said.

Madala Thomas said the young woman was introduced to his wife by her friend, who also runs a loan shark business ekasi.

On Wednesday, she came by herself without the friend, which made his partner suspicious.

He said the people who killed gogo and injured his partner, who was also confirmed dead on Saturday, ransacked the house and got away with R6 000 in cash.

He said it was not the first time the couple came to his house, as they first came on Sunday, 4 August evening.

"We refused to open the door for them that evening and told them to come back the following day as it was already late. They really broke my heart for killing gogo and now my lover. They could have taken the money and left," he said.

The madala said he was praying for his injured wife to survive, but that can only be a dream after she died at the hospital from her injuries on Saturday, 10 August.

Gauteng police spokeswoman Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.

The attempted murder case could soon change after Annah died in hospital on Saturday.
