"We're heartbroken by this untimely death."

TWO men were killed, and another is fighting for his life in hospital after an Isuzu bakkie lost control and rolled several times in Thulamahashe, Mpumalanga on Saturday, 11 November.

They were driving home from Cottondale outside Acornhoek from the funeral of the slain student teacher Thembinkosi Mathebula (24) in Thulamahashe.

The bakkie allegedly and suddenly slipped off the road on a bend and tossed them in the air before plunging onto a nearby lodge access road.

A shocked bystander said: "The bakkie had just passed in the Acornhoek direction, and it returned at a high speed. That's when brakes failed and it overturned, killing one person instantly on the scene. Others were thrown and scattered around the scene, bleeding and shouting for help. One was already dead, and two were severely injured."

Sibongile Hlatshwayo said: "We're heartbroken by this untimely death. They had just left the house after burying Thembinkosi, saying they were going home. But later, we received a call saying they never made it."
