KAIZER Chiefs have finally secured the signature of Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro.
The 24-year-old forward joins Amakhosi after a long chase that kept fans waiting.
Chiefs confirmed the deal on Monday, 18 August, announcing the signing of the player who has been on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns since 2021.
Although he never made an official appearance for the Brazilians, Ighodaro has built a strong reputation in the DStv Premiership through his loan spells.
He has turned out for University of Pretoria, Chippa United, SuperSport United and most recently AmaZulu FC, where he spent last season.
In total, the Nigerian has played 97 matches and scored 25 goals in Mzansi's topflight since his arrival in July 2021.
Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr welcomed the new striker with open arms.
"We warmly welcome Etiosa into the Kaizer Chiefs family. We're excited that he has joined our journey. His passion, work rate and dedication will surely add to the team this season and beyond. We look forward to creating unforgettable moments together in the Gold and Black colours of the Glamour Boys," said Motaung Jr.

The Glamour Boys have been desperate for firepower upfront after struggling with goals last season. The signing of Ighodaro is seen as a step towards solving that problem.
Born in Benin City, Nigeria, Ighodaro started his career at Gidigbo United before being spotted by scouts from Sundowns.
Despite never featuring in Sundowns' colours, his time on loan helped him adapt quickly to the physical demands of the PSL.
At Chippa, he became one of the standout performers, scoring regularly and earning praise for his pace, positioning, and ability to hold up play.
His consistent performances eventually caught the eye of Chiefs, who had been monitoring him for months.
Ighodaro is also a former Nigeria U-20 international, having represented his country in junior competitions before making the move to South Africa.
Chiefs fans will be eager to see if he can replicate his Chippa and AmaZulu form at Naturena, where expectations are always high. With the new season fast approaching, Amakhosi faithful will hope Ighodaro's arrival marks the beginning of a more clinical and confident Chiefs attack.
For now, the Gold and Black faithful can breathe a sigh of relief - the striker search is over, and Ighodaro is finally an Amakhosi.
