THE parents of Ukhozi FM presenter Zimiphi "Zimdollar" Biyela say they live in fear.
They claimed their three kids are in trouble with the law while an ongoing taxi war might claim their lives.
Zimdollar's father Zimeleni Biyela accused the police of taking sides, claiming his two sons landed in jail because of the taxi war but none of their opponents have been arrested.
Three of his children, including Zimdollar, allegedly have problems with the police.
Zimdollar's troubles started when she lashed out at the police after the NIU allegedly shot her friend Nkululeko Mkhize.
She was recently blasted by Police Minister Bheki Cele who accused her of encouraging thugs to kill police officers. She was also recently summoned to answer charges of carrying unauthorised weapons.
On the other hand, her brothers Vika and Boni Biyela were arrested over a taxi war related matter, while Vika, who was released on bail, lost 10 taxis after they were burnt on Thursday, 9 November.
Zimeleni said they feared for their lives, adding that every time they see a car approaching their home, they run into the bushes because they don't know if it's someone who wants to kill them.
"Today all my children are living in a situation where they can all be killed. It would be better if they leave my children alone and kill me first and kill them when I am gone instead of killing them in front of me. If there is the law, they need to tell us how it works or it is designed to support a particular side. Since the taxi war started, there's a group that has been fighting with my kids and they often came to my house and even stole my goats. I don't know why they are involving my kids because I don't know anything about the taxi war," he said.

Zimeleni's elder son, Vikinduku Biyela (42), confirmed to the Daily Sun that he's currently attending a court case at the Melmoth Magistrates Court.
"I was arrested in June and charged with attempted murder and kidnapping after my guards and I apprehended the hitman who was supposed to shoot me. While I was being arrested, our opponents came to attack our taxi rank in Dlangubo. My younger brother Boni Biyela shot back, and the police came, disarmed him and arrested him. He's currently in prison," Vikunduku said.
Zimdollar couldn't be reached for comment.
KZN police spokesman Colonel Robert Netshiunda told Daily Sun that cops don't need to comment on people's opinions.
"According to the constitution, everyone has the right to express their opinion. As for insinuations that the police are taking sides, we challenge the person spreading such malicious allegations to name cases they have reported that the police have neglected or never investigated and provide evidence to that effect.
"Police investigations know no face, gender, creed or race. Anyone dissatisfied with the services of the police is free to raise formal concerns with the relevant bodies set up to ensure the professionalism and fairness of police officers," he said.
