MEDIA personality and actress Pearl Thusi will be grilled by her industry friends tonight, 21 November.
The Roast of Pearl Thusi will be recorded at Gold Reef City's Lyric Theatre, south of Joburg.
Former Idols judge Somizi "SomGaga" Mhlongo will host the event.
Somizi will set the stage aflame during the live recording, an edited version of which will be broadcast on Comedy Central (DStv Channel 122) at 9pm on 8 December 2024.
Somizi, who has also had his fair share of being roasted, previously served on the panel for Kenny Kunene's Roast. The actor, presenter, choreographer, style icon, and social butterfly, said he's ready to be the Roastmaster.
"I know Pearl very well, and she and I are no strangers to the media spotlight. But she's never been in the Roast's hot seat before - I have, and I can tell her it's no picnic. Those flames are real," Somizi said.

He said they'll have to see if her perfectly poised facade will crumble, or not.
"Or if she'll maintain her composure when facing a barrage of insults hurled at her like ping-pong balls. But I have faith in our Black Pearl.
"I'm so ready to pull out all the stops to make this a Roast for the history books - and rest assured, the fur and feathers are going to fly," he said.
Monde Twala, senior vice president and general manager at Paramount Africa, and lead at BET International, said they're delighted to have Somizi lead the #RoastofPearl.
"We all know when Somizi brings his SomGaga persona out to play. It's going to be a riot! Here's a Roastmaster who's not scared to be outrageous but will also need a steady hand to keep the Roasting panel in line," Monde said.
"So, I think fans of the Comedy Central Roast should buckle up for a sensational and bumpy ride."
