Menzi "Gxabhashe" Xulu was talk of the town when his first wife accompanied him to choose a second wife.
Menzi, a presenter on Icora FM, surprised many when he arrived with his first wife, Kholiwe Ndlela-Xulu to choose Bonokuhle Xaba as his second wife.
All the drama unfolded at Ebuhleni Shembe Church in Durban on Sunday, 25 January, during a service for men to choose wives among female congregants.
Mzansi kept asking how the first wife could accompany her husband and support him while he is choosing a second wife.
Some praised Menzi for making his first wife accept the second one, while others accused him of using strong muthi on the first wife.
Menzi told Daily Sun his first wife supported and accompanied him as he told her about wanting a second wife when he was asking for love from her.
"When she agreed to be in love with me and get married to me three years ago, she was aware that I will take a second wife because I told her from the start and told her the reasons to have a second wife. I also chose the first wife as a virgin in the church.
"So, this year I just reminded her that it is that time to take a second wife, who is a virgin from the church, and it was easier for her to support me and accompany me because she was aware of it," he said.
Menzi advised all men who are interested in polygamy not to lie to their girlfriends or first wives.

"If you tell her the truth that you will take another wife and tell her about the reasons and let her decide if she wants to be in polygamy or not, then you will not have a problem when you tell her you are taking a second wife.
"If you lie to your wife and tell her she will be the only one and along the way you decide to take another wife, then problems will start," said Menzi.
He added that growing up, he didn't like polygamy as he thought it was ungodly, but he later realised that his ancestors wanted it, and he told his first wife before they agreed to be in love.
Both wives were unavailable to comment.
