THIS month, women across South Africa will be celebrated, honoured, and pampered.
As the nation marks Women's Day, the organisers of the Tribute to Women event are gearing up for their annual celebration.
They aim to highlight the significant contributions of women, especially those who combat gender-gased violence (GBV).
Joe Chakela, the festival director, spoke to Daily Sun, emphasising that the event is inclusive.
"This is a family-friendly festival open to everyone," he said.
Chakela highlighted the importance of recognising the achievements of Mzansi women.
"We need to celebrate all those women doing well. Yes, we will do the 10 days of no violence against women and children, but we also need to celebrate the achievement of women, and this is what this event is all about," he said.

The festival will feature exhibitions where women-led companies will showcase their products.
"We're also going to have a mix of male and female performances. We have chosen a line-up that is loved by women. It will be both men and women serenading women," he said.
He clarified that the event is not just a divas concert but a tribute where everyone will perform for the special guests.
Artists such as Zonke, Ringo, Mafikizolo, Nomfundo Moh, and Kelvin Momo will grace the stage. The event has been receiving positive feedback annually.
"People have received it very well and they always look forward to it every year. People have been asking about it since the year started," he said.
The event is scheduled for 25 August at Emmarentia Randburg, north of Joburg.
