GROWING up in a musical environment made rapper and actor Shaheed Ahmed discover his taste at a young age.
The 24-year-old musician from Mahikeng, North West, is preparing to release his new single titled Affirmation 4 the RichKid.
Shaheed told Daily Sun that growing up surrounded by his uncle and close friends who are sound engineers and DJs made him pursue a career in music.
"As a versatile artist, I can sing, rap and act. I'm skilled in various musical styles, including Afrobeat and R&B.
"I was raised in an environment where music was a base of all feeling and emotion. But my career officially started in 2016 when my friends took me to the studio, and I recorded my debut single," he said.

Shaheed has released several singles since 2016 and plans to release more before releasing his debut album.
"My new song is titled Affirmation 4 the RichKid. I'm basically bringing what I see in myself to life, manifesting and bringing the life I dream of into reality," Shaheed said.
He appeared on DStv's channel Honey as one of the lead actors on a series called The Campus.
"I was on The Campus in 2019. They cast me in Rustenburg, and I jumped at the opportunity. I really enjoyed the experience. I played a role that embodied my whole personality as a teenager. I love it," he said.
Shaheed said he plans to raise the bar in the entertainment scene and be recognised globally for his artistic work.
