THE House of Zwide actor Khaya Dladla has finally broken the silence about his engagement that ended in 2022.
Khaya got engaged to Mercutio Buthelezi at a surprise party attended by family and close friends in October 2020. Their lavish party was held at Ocean Reef Hotel Zinkwazi, north of Durban.
The couple kept quiet about their break-up, even though it was clear they were no longer together.
Khaya, who is a Gagasi FM presenter, said he didn't want to comment about it because he didn't owe anyone answers.
"I was pretending to be happy in front of people, but I was not happy when I was alone. There were many things that were not adding up in our relationship.
"I don't think that there were people who were noticing that there were cracks in our relationship, but those who were closer to us were noticing them," said Khaya.

Khaya said he fought for five years for their relationship but failed.
"After it ended, I attended therapy to find who was wrong between us because it can happen that you hurt someone while you don't realise it.
"But it was like I was wasting my money because of what I was told - I don't believe it. I advise people that instead of going to therapy, it is better to go for a massage," he said.
Khaya has encouraged people in relationships to not hide who they really are because when their real side comes out, there will be a problem.
"Just be you. Don't try to charm me and end up forgetting to show who you are.
"I don't regret being in that relationship because I learnt a lot," she said.
